The Yashica-Mat LM released in 1958, a year after the 1957 YashicaMat, is a later model to the earlier 1956 Yashica LM. It features crank wind and thumbwheel setting for aperture and shutter speeds and a selenium cell meter (no battery). The exposure factor is read through a small perspex window in the top of the meter and calculations made using the rotating disks built into the focussing knob.The Yashica-Mat LM has Yashinon f/3.5 taking lens and a brighter f/3.2 viewing lens in a Copal-MXV B 1-500th shutter with a self-timer. In fact the only significant differences between the YashicaMat LM and the YashicaMat are the meter and the exposure calculation rings set within the focussing knob. Of course there were also some subtle cosmetic variances such as the emblem on the viewfinder hood and the style of thumbwheels for the aperture and speed settings.The shutter is firing nicely on all speeds; the self-timer is working as is the light meter. Just pop in a film and you’re ready to go!From my personal collection this camera represents the best of the best and I doubt you would find better anywhere else.Serial # MTL 2082485
