Voigtlander Vitomatic IIIB.
Rare version with the highly regarded 50mm f2 Ultron Lens.
Mint- to Mint condition…beautiful shape, you have to look hard to find any imperfections.
One reason why this example looks so good is a NOS toplate diffuser disc was recently fitted.
The Disc directs illumination to the meter window.
Unfortunately they yellow & go brittle with age.
These days it’s impossible to find an example without a cracked & discoloured disc.
Excellent Optics with no obvious imperfections…although I would expect to see some minor haze, dust & debris if torture tested with magnified viewing under backlight.
Excellent Mechanics…shutter is crisp & strong with spot-on timings all the way down to 1 sec.
Rangefinder is well defined, well aligned & seems accurate.
Beautifully clear 1:1 Viewfinder.
Meter working, but consistently just over a stop out…easy to compensate for.
The shutter speed setting ring has a slight dry squeak around f2.8 to f4 setting…depends on how fast you turn it…otherwise the camera is very difficult to fault.
Was film tested some months back with outstanding results.
(only letting this baby go because of a recently acquired mint III CS…Ultron + CdS metering)
Comes with makers ERC, 2 Voigtlander Filters & Hood + original Hood/Filter Case.
