VOIGTLNDER BESSA DUAL FORMAT FOLDING CAMERA,10.5CM F/6.3 VOITGAR LENS & CASE.
On offer is a Vintage 1930’s Voigtlnder Bessa Dual Format Folding Camera with a 10.5cm f/6.3 Anastigmat Voitgar Lens and Case.
Unmarked and in excellent condition.
The Bessa is a classic lineof medium format folding cameras made in Germany by Voigtlnder from 1929-1956and was their first self-erecting model. The Bessa was the first productionmodel in the Bessa line that using 120 film to produce 6x9cm photographs.
This particular modelwas introduced in 1937 and is a dual format (4.5 x 6 or 6 x 9cm) version with an eyelevel sports finder located on top of the camera under a metal folding hood aswell as the Brilliant Finder found above the lens.
It is fitted with asharp 10.5cm f/6.3 Anastigmat Voigtar Lens (f/6.3 – f/22) set in a Compurshutter(?) with four speeds of 1/25, 1/50, 1/100 & 1/125sec plus Bulb andTime. The firing mechanism is located on the exterior of the front foldingcover.
The lens is free from scratches, haze and fungus and the bellowsappear light tight. The shutter fires at all tested speeds (and sound correctto the ear), the aperture is smooth, the folding mechanism works with ease, the glass sports finder pops up and folds down just fine and the brilliant finder is cleanand clear.
The bodywork is inexcellent condition with all leatherette intact and no blemishes to the chromework. The interior is clean and tidy with take-up spool in place and comes complete with the rare 4.5 x 6cm mask (usually gets lost).
Included is a canvas carry case with hand strap.
