Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim 22mm lens 35mm Point and Shoot camera. The original and best wide angle LOMO / Street camera in what appears to be unused condition.
A lovely example of this sought after ultra wide lens camera from Vivitar.
With its 22mm very wide angle lens with a focal length of 22mm, an aperture of f/11 and surprisingly good optics; this lightweight point and shoot camera turns everyday street and landscape photography into a panoramic vista.
The field of view from this lens on 35mm film is almost 80 degrees, and this allied to its very wide depth of field means that close up objects in the centre of the picture appear huge and objects and buildings on the edge of the picture appear small and distant.
If you’re looking for a fully manual, lightweight and simple daytime camera that gives consistently great and surprising results as much from its design quirks as it as its design features?
This could be the one.
Testing
I have tested the camera and it appears to be in very good almost unused condition with one mark I can see on the back. Indeed the attached camera strap still has the manufacturers band around it which needs to be removed to use it.
All buttons and controls are firm and work as they should.
The viewfinder is bright and clear and the lens is clean with no scratches, haze or fungus.
The film compartment is clean too.
The back opens and closes correctly and the film winder and rewinding mechanisms works as expected.
The only test I have not carried out is to run a film through it.
