Vintage ZENIT 3M 35mm Film SLR Camera
& 39mm 50mm f3.5 Industar & ERC Case 1963
Classic vintage SLR from the former Soviet Union (USSR) dating to the ‘Cold War’ days; 1963.
Serial number: 63008127, dating this to 1963.Originally modeled on the old Leica II body (copied by Fed and Zorki rangefinder cameras) and then later developed through the Zenit C, this has shutter speeds from 1/30th to 1/500th sec. & B. Flash sync, tripod bush, and delayed action. Interchangeable lenses are 39mm thread but not the same register as Leica lenses (that is, they will focus at a different distance as a consequence of the mirror box being built into this camera).
Lens is an Industar-50 50mm f/3.5, clean and clear. S/n 6567932 (dating this to 1965).All working well, view through the viewfinder is clean and clear but don’t expect the same brightness as todays DSLRs!Some paint flaking from the side of the mirror box but generally in fair cosmetic condition.
Mechanically this has a jammed mirror, not at the right angle (I think). The shutter also does not seem to cock fully, so doesn’t fire properly.Please look carefully at the actual item for sale here. We do not use stock photos.
