In really good physical condition – dates from c.1962.

Untested with film but the camera winds on and shutter releases as it should. Some minor age related marks to the leather case but overall fabulous condition given its age. No apparent scratches to the lens. Not sure if the light meter is accurate but it is still working and responsive which is unusual in a camera of this age – a further testament to its condition and very light usage. The taking lens is a 80mm Yashinon F 3.5  with a Copal MXV shutter to 1/500.

The first Yashica TLR with crank advance was the Yashica-Mat, released in 1957.  The Yashica-Mat LM (as here) was introduced in 1958.

“LM” stands for Light Meter, referring to the uncoupled selenium cell exposure meter in front of the viewfinder. It’s an all-mechanical camera; even the light meter doesn’t need a battery. The Yashica-Mat LM is a very solidly made, easy-to-use camera and was only superceded by the almost identical Yashica-Mat EM in 1964.
