A vintage rangefinder camera from the USSR “FED 3” that was produced in 1961-1979 period by “Kharkiv Production Engineering Association ‘FED'”. The factory emerged from the small workshops of the Children’s labour commune. The name of the camera is the first letters of the Russian revolutionary’s name – Feliks Edmundovich Dzerzhinskiy. The FED 3 is a Soviet-era Leica copy made by the FED factory. It’s a close clone of the Leica screw mount cameras, using the same M39 mount and rangefinder design. It uses a horizontal-running cloth shutter and a very similar shutter timing mechanism as the Leica I, II and III series.

The camera is in good condition for its age. Thre are some scratches, scuffs and dirt spots on the case. There are some kind of dust on the lens (you can see it on photos). Everything rotates and clicks without problems. The focus ring rotates softly and distinctly. Buttons are pressed, shutter speeds work correctly, blades move well at every aperture position.
