This is a Leica II copy by Zorki of the former USSR which was manufactured to a high standard and remains in excellent condition with all functions fully operational ie aperture, shutter blind, speed selection, ‘bulb’ function, rangefinder focus, lens open/close, shutter release and additionally comes with the film take-up spool which essential to these cameras.
It was made to resemble the Luftwaffe of the 1930’s and WW2 having being engraved with the eagle and swastika and Luftwaffen Eigentum (Airforce Property) which dates it as a post-war item intended to attract collectors of memorabilia of that period. Ironically the owners of true Leica II Luftwaffe cameras often obliterated these symbols and text.
Whilst not a genuine Leica this camera is solid and well made from good materials. It shows signs of useage but not excessively so.
Suitable as a collectors piece as a camera or WW2 memorabilia.
