This is a used vintage Kodak Colorsnap 35 35mm camera, made between 1959 and 1964. It has a 43.9mm f3.9 Anaston lens and single-speed shutter, around 1/40th sec, and a simple symbol / EV dial for setting aperture. It was designed to take a bulb flash connecting to a screw thread and pin on the side of the camera, but these are rarely available. I think that it was later possible to get an electronic flash with a delay circuit to work with these cameras, but I have no details; since electronic flashes use very high voltages I do not recommend DIY! An unusual feature is a shutter reset switch just below the viewfinder – if this is pressed to the left after taking a photograph the shutter is reset and can be fired again without winding on the film, which is useful for effects photography and Lomography.

This is working well in most respects but the film counter is not advancing when film is wound on – this may be fixable, but I’m not the person to do it, it will work without it provided you keep track of exposures. I have not developed film. I’m supplying it with an Actina metal hood which is the right physical size for this lens but has not been tested for cut-off, I don’t have a case or any other accessories.

I’m separately selling several other photographic items. If you buy multiple auction items from me please request a combined postage invoice, I’ll do my best to get it down to the lowest possible price. I do not make any profit on postage.

International buyers: The postage price shown is based on an estimate of packed weight, just under 500g; if it turns out to be cheaper than expected I will refund the balance.
