This is a used Brownie 44A roll-film camera with its original cap and front cover, manufactured in the UK between 1959 and 1965. I don’t have any accessories or packaging for it. This uses 127 roll film, 4x4cm, which is no longer readily available, but is sold intermittently. Instructions for using 35mm film instead can be found on line, but I don’t recommend this because this camera has a curved film plane which could cause problems; the centre of the image would probably be badly out of focus. Condition is working but cosmetically poor, with scuffs and grime. There is some white material inside the lens which appears to be glue or paint on the inside of the conical tube behind the front element – it’s far enough off centre that it should not affect results.
This has two aperture settings, marked as 12 and 13 (presumably f12 and f13) but no other controls. The shutter speed is fixed at around 1/40th second. There is no linkage between the winder and shutter so that it is easy to take double exposures for special effects.
