VINTAGE FRENCH 1950s PHOTAX SERIESVIII BOYER PARIS BAKELITE CAMERA & LEATHER CASE Photax Boyer Paris Series VIII Made in France, this vintage 1950s Photax camerais technically very simple. It has a characteristic telescopic lens barrel which screws 360 degrees counter-clockwise from the body to take the picture and isprotected by a small metal lens cap. The functional partsin the lens tube’s front plate are the meniscus lens, the two round aperturemasks, a sliding nib to select one of the two apertures, another sliding nib toselect the shutter speed, the shutter and the shutter release button. The body containsthe film spools and the image frame. Outer parts are the optical viewfinder,the film advance wheel, the opening shifter, and one red exposure countingwindow. Specifications: Type: viewfindercameraFilm: 620 type filmrolls.Manufacturer:M.I.O.M.Exposure format: 6x 9.Lens: Boyer Paris SeriesVIII meniscus lens, distances 2.75 metres to infinity.Launch year: 1955. Measurements (approximate): Height x width x depth: 9.7 cm x 16 cm x 7.5 cm (9.5 cm withlens barrel extended). Condition: The camera is in very good original condition and appears to be in good working order,although it has not been tested using film. It is nice and clean inside, the film winding mechanism and the shutter button are in good working order and the telescopic lens opens and closes smoothly.
