This is a nice-looking No 1A Pocket Kodak camera which would have been manufactured in the United States between 1926 and 1932. This measures 3.5 inches by 8.5 inches when fully extended.

I believe that the “A” stands for autograph which meant that the camera used a particular type of A116 film (sadly, discontinued in 1984). The film was quite complex, consisting of film and backing which had two layers, one of which was carbon paper. The photographer would be able to open a door at the back of the camera so that a stylus could be used to mark the film. The door would also allow that part of the film to be exposed to the light. The lens here is F 7.9.

The Kodak No A1 originally sold at around $20 making it a reasonably priced piece of kit for serious amateur enthusiasts.

This camera appears to be in good condition with some obvious cosmetic wear. However, I cannot find evidence of the leg.
