Very Rare Antique Agiflash Agilux camera
There are a few other Agilux cameras for sale around the ‘net, but almost none of these Agiflash models as far as I’m able to discover. This is a real collectors item.
This Agiflash (1954-58) screams retro-style, and could never be confused with the dull camera of the same name which superceded it (Agiflash 44 1959-64). Though manufactured in Croyden, England the Agiflashes stretched lines seem inspired by American cars of the day. The cool asymetricl design is functional too, as the extended body houses the flash batteries.
The Agilux Agiflash is a bakelite camera for 127 film. I just love its funky, streamlined design, it looks more 1930’s Art Deco to me. The cylindrical protrusion on top is the flash socket. The cap on it even has ‘Flash’ written on it!

I’ve no idea if the carry bag is original specifically for this camera, but it fits perfectly.
This was my other Grandad’s camera, we still have a few photos he took with it, he wasn’t as prolific. I’ve no reason to believe that if film were available for this camera it would work anything but perfectly. There is a small scrape (at nine o’clock) on the lens surround. Other than that it’s in remarkably good condition.
