This is an unusual box camera produced by Zeiss Ikon in the late 1930’s. It is almost identical in appearance, dimensions and weight to the Baldur 51 and the rare Balilla camera produced for the Italian market (see final photo), but does not have the Baldur or Balilla name on the faceplate. I cannot find any reference to it on any of the vintage camera websites and there are no photos online showing a similar faceplate. This particular camera is in excellent cosmetic condition and appears to be in full working order.  Cosmetic condition (to be read in conjunction with the photos)The leather on the camera body is complete and in excellent condition with no scuffs, tears or areas of missing leather. The black paint on the faceplate is also excellent, but there is some minor paint loss on the central band around the camera – see photos. The nickel plated finish on the winder is also in very good condition. The carry handle is complete and in near mint condition, as is the interior of the camera. Operational conditionThe camera is in full working order. The shutter fires as it should on both T and I settings. The waist level viewfinders are working, but would benefit from an internal clean. The lens (presumably a Goerz Frontar) appears to be clean and fungus free. The catch holding the camera into the box works as it should. Dimensions are 9.3 x 8.8 x 7.5cm and the camera weighs 365g.  Overall, this is a very nice little camera in excellent cosmetic condition and in full working order. It comes in a contemporary canvas case which is in good vintage condition. This camera has not been tested with film and as with any camera of this age it would probably benefit from a general mechanical service if you intend to use it. I check all lenses for fungus as best I can, but do not guarantee that any lens is entirely fungus free. I recommend having any lens professionally cleaned if you intend to use the camera. Due to the age of this camera it is being sold as seen without warranty.  This camera will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For service.
