You are looking at an Antique Thornton Pickard Junior Special Ruby Reflex Plate Camera
It comes in its original case, marked “The Westminster Exchange Limited, 119 Victoria St, London SW1”. There is a plate on the front of the camera also bearing this name
The serial number is 2547 (located inside the back of the camera).
Also included is a small pouch with a spare plate holder and plates – the pouch may well also be original.
The camera is decent antique condition – some general wear but nothing too drastic. The lens guard flap still functions properly and the waist viewfinder folds up and back as it should.
The focusing knob turns easily and the lens housing moves in and out fine. The bellows look to be intact.
It is missing a few parts though. There is no viewing screen inside the viewfinder, the shutter blinds are no longer there and there is no lens.
The shutter moves the flap up and down but doesn’t release the cocking knob, which is stuck in the position seen in the photos.
I also can’t get the plates out of the plate holders – probably due to warping/corrosion.
The case is missing its catch and strap and the inside compartment (which houses the spare plates) has come away on one side. Aside from that and a bit of general wear and tear, it’s pretty good for its age
