An Ensign Ranger 2 medium format folding camera, with a Ross Xpres 105mm F/3.8 lens. It takes 8 6x9cm pictures on standard 120 roll film.
This camera shares the same basic body with the Selfix 820, but lacks the dual format facility, and has a simple frame finder and Trikon shutter with speeds of 1/100, 1/50, 1/25, B and T. Most Rangers are fitted with the Ensar triplet lens, but this one unusually has the well regarded Ross Xpres lens.
I’ve film tested this camera with results as attached. It is in superb all round condition, as near mint as a 60 year old camera can be. The shutter operates correctly, the folding mechanism is solid and the bellows appear light tight. The lens appears clean, clear and undamaged with no fungus or haze. One of the best I’ve seen. Focus operates correctly but stiffens towards the infinity setting. The 10 blade aperture works smoothly down to F/22. The synch terminal works, probably for bulb rather than electronic flash. There is no self timer.
It comes with a nice leather case (not original but it fits very well) and a leather cased metal lens hood of the correct size.
