SuperbENSIGN DE LUXE REFLEX OUTFIT 1927
Thisis a very special reflex. The De Luxe model was the top of the range,and has all the nickel fittings finished in two tone silver effectplating. The leather is special fine grain seal leather.Everything about it is very De Luxe! And it is in exceptionalcondition too.
Thisis the quarter plate model, & it was made in England around 1927.It has all the features including rising front, & revolving back.And it was very expensive at 25 on my 1928 price list a Leicawas only 18!
Thelens is a Tessar 15cm f4.5 serial number 796940 dates it to 1927.It is optically clean. Rack focusing is to about 2 feet. It has itslovely gold embossed Carl Zeiss Jena lens cap.
Thefocal plane shutter is speeded 15-1000 plus B&T, & is workingwell on most speeds. The blinds are smooth & seem free frompinholes when checked visually. It fires crisply & the slit widthlooks pretty accurate from 1000 down to 50, but it sticks on 25, 20 &15. B&T work ok. Not bad after 90 years though!
Themirror has a little tarnishing but is fully usable. The ground glassfocusing screen is under the removable hood. The hood itself isreally nice, with just a bit of wear to the two upper corners whereit folds.
Overallit is excellent condition & has not had much use by the look ofit. You will not easily find another this good.
