This is a Kodak Junior Six-20 folding camera made in London by the Kodak Ltd in the mid 1930s. It is a late model with a Kodon shutter and Kodak Doublet lens
Cosmetic Condition (to be read in conjunction with the photographs)The leather on the body of the camera is in excellent condition with no scuffs visible and no areas of missing leather – see photos. The chromed and nickel plated parts are are also excellent, with just a few signs of corrosion on the main back and bed hinges. The black painted metalwork is very good with just a few minor defects on the lens standard. The bellows are also excellent. The carry strap is original and undamaged. Operational ConditionThe folding mechanism works well and the camera locks into place as it should. The No 0 Kodon shutter fires on all settings. The timing feels right although this will need to be checked. The diaphragm operates smoothly. The brilliant viewfinder is operational and provides a clear image. The Kodak Doublet lens is reasonably clear and does not appear to have any fungus. The camera originally took Kodak 620 film. Closed dimensions are 3 x 8 x 16cm and the camera weighs 540g.
The camera comes with an instruction manual which is complete, but a little tatty. It is in its original canvas case which is in good clean condition.
Overall, this is a very attractive camera in unusually good condition – now over 80 years old. It has not been tested with film and as with any camera of this age it would benefit from a mechanical service and internal clean. I check all lenses for fungus as best I can, but do not guarantee that any lens is entirely fungus free. Whilst this lens appears to be clear, I recommend having the lens professionally cleaned if you intend to use this camera. Due to the age of this camera it is being sold as seen without warranty. The camera will be sent by 2nd Class Signed For post.
