A beautiful classic camera That has survived in truly excellent condition. It comes from the large collections of a friend and neighbour of mine, a 98-year-old ex-Royal Engineer who served in WW2 and who finally needs to find new homes for the things hes cherished for a lifetime. All proceeds will assist him in his move to sheltered accommodation.
The owner was a keen photographer who acquired many cameras but none finer than this one. He purchased it new, used it for a studio project and has stored it in a display cabinet ever since. It has never travelled or even been used outside which explains the excellent clean and unworn condition of both the camera and the case.
There are some very minimal signs of use to the cameras body, specifically to the tripod mount on the base and a couple of tiny paint chips on the bottom body edges but I cant find any other marks worth mentioning, no dirt and certainly no scratches or damage of any kind. The optics appear free of any faults and the controls are unmarked, the cameras interior is also factory-fresh.
The high-quality case also presents very well, the leather has a deep shine with no damage to stitching, no corrosion to the metal parts and a clean lining – it is obvious that it has not been carried or handled much. The accessory pouches are marked 16 and 24 – they include an alternative indicator for different film cartridges and a selection of frames.
I am completely inexperienced with cameras of this sort so I have left it alone – I havent polished it, cleaned it or interfered with the mechanisms and it is sold as-found. There cant be many examples left in such fine condition and I believe it will please a demanding collector or a photographer who intends to put it back into use. However, if it should disappoint the new owner in any way upon inspection, a return will be welcome without question.
