Launched in the 1976, the Ricoh 500 GX is a handy rangefinder camera with fixed lens made in Taiwan by Ricoh.

This compact 35mm film camera has a very good f/2.8 40mm Color-Rikenon lens. The camera features shutter priority, which is engaged by turning the aperture ring to a green letter A. Once set, the camera is now in charge of choosing the correct aperture based on the film speed, the CdS metered exposure, and the shutter speed set by the photographer on the shutter speed dial around the lens barrel. Of course, the camera can be used in manual mode if required.

One of the Ricoh 500 GX’s special features is an easy-to-use multi-exposure facility via a simple sliding button on front of the camera.

This camera is in very good condition and has been tested with film in the past week. The rangefinder bridge spot is working well and the distances are quite accurate, but not perfect.

The camera comes with a brand-new battery, which drives the working metering. The camera also has its original Ricoh lens cap, new back-door light seals, neck strap and carry case.
