Retro black 1950s-1970s West German Ilford Sportsman camera
Condition – good.
Outside, some stitching has come away and the back of the case is a little bit worn. The straps are secure but are quite tatty at the ends which attach to the body. Inside is worn away on the top due to the camera rubbing on it.
The actual camera is mostly good apart from being grubby in areas and some of the black material coming away at a corner. The coating has also chipped away (but its not very noticeable).
Introduction:
Another exciting retro camera find from the collection I started at University but never finished!!! A piece of old German history, a camera that breaks photographic boundaries! Its also very smart and efficient like most German things 🙂 . A weighty beauty that can be used in and out of its case. It can be secured by a screw on the base of the camera (please see photo).
Description:
Outside is a well structured chocolate brown type leather material with tan stitching incasing the camera and there are short adjustable straps with curved buckles. Ilford Made in Germany is embossed on the leather protecting the lens and the whole thing is closed by a clasp. The interior is covered in a soft red felt.
The camera is a mix of metal and a black textured plastic. Oddly the viewfinder has a yellow/green hue to it. The lens is circles of black and silver with the words DACORA Kamerawork Reutlingen digner 1:2, 8/45mm and PRONTOR-SVS. Surrounding the lens is a big metal plate including the shutter button. The film winder is very user friendly-you twist the tiny handle to wind it on. Please be aware that I have no idea if the camera works or not.

Ive researched online and due to condition I am going to start the bidding at 0.99 with P&P at 6.00 which should cover signed for proof of delivery parcels and the buying of extra packaging if needed.
International P&P is about 14.00. Please note I am only sticking to the UK, Ireland and EU as sending it further afield gets complicated my end.
