A rather rare Olympus FTL camera, only produced for about a year, between 1971 and 1972. It was a direct precursor to the immensely popular Olympus OM range of SLR cameras, but a very different design. The lens mount is for standard M42 screw in lenses (all should fit and work with stop down metering), but will only provide full aperture metering with Olympus lenses which were designed for it – a substantial range of these were made, but all are hard to find. I have attempted to reset the spring for the winding handle, but failed – it is very awkward, but you may have better luck or expertise. In any event the winder works, but you just have to pull back the handle. Please see the photographs, which are part of this description. Please also bear in mind that this camera is about 45 years old, and though capable of taking excellent photographs, is sold primarily as a collectors item. It comes with the screw cap and strap as shown. Foam rubber seals are original, and ideally should be replaced. All the photos are of the camera for sale. The postage cost indicated is for mainland UK (combined postage available).
