Here is a rare MILITARY ‘CAMERA, STILL PICTURE, PRESS TYPE 4×5’ GRAFLEX SUPER SPEED GRAPHIC , in nice condition but being sold AS IS FOR DISPLAY. The main thing to point out is the the shutter cocks and fires but the cocking ring keeps turning, it doesn’t stop in the cocked position and therefore the trigger lever can’t be used. As the ring is turned the shutter will fire every lap. The aperture doesn’t open or close quickly. The Rodenstock made Graflex Optar 135mm f4.5 lens look clean and clear. Of course any other standard 4×5 Graflex type shutter and lens will fit this camera, with the appropriate lens board hole.
All the drop bed movements, focus, etc, appear to work well. Around the back, the folding hood is in great condition, there is a fresnel lens to aid focus but there is no actual ground glass (easily available on ebay). The bellows look great too so this camera could be converted into a user with little extra expense. Of course it it equipped with a Graflok back so it can accept normal 4×5 film holders, Grafmatics and 120 roll film adapters.
Also included is a matching Singer/Graflex Strob 250 flash unit of unknown working function but very tidy condition. There is no connecting cable.
This is a great opportunity to buy a real piece of military camera history as there’s not many of these around anymore, especially in original condition.
