This is an original Polaroid Image Elite (Also called a Spectra) – Made in the UK as all original polaroid cameras were. It is the same as a Spectra Pro and was originally used by professional photographers rather than amateurs/hobbyists.
Was bought for 150 second hand a few years ago and used sparingly since (as I found an SX70 for a bargain).
It takes wider Spectra film that looks almost like widescreen format (not the traditional box format polaroid) – the film is actually a much more cinematic shape and leads to better looking and more detailed images.
New film for this camera is currently made and widely available from a company called Polaroid Originals in both colour and black and white.
It has a built in flash and a built in sonar auto-focus which works surprisingly well.
Last time I used it it was in good working order, although it did have the occasional fault of not releasing the image after you’ve taken the picture so that to release the picture you’d have to ‘reset’ the camera by closing and opening it. The image would then be released. This means I can’t state it’s in perfect working order, though if this problem persists I imagine it is not a difficult fix.
