Rare black Asahi Pentax S1a 35mm Single lens reflex film camera with M42 50mm f1.8 Super-Takumar Asahi Opt. Co. Lens made in Japan.Body Number 656935 lens number 1789559.
All in working condition. The viewfinder VERY clean for a camera this age and the lever wind on is very smooth.The shutter appears to be correct for speed (the shutter is marked up to 1/500 of a second, but as is well known can be set at 1/1000 on this model.) The lens is clean inside and out with no oil on diaphragm. Focuses very smoothly and the original lens cap is present.
The camera is in bright cosmetic condition – the white lettering is not yellowed and is intact. However, in fairness I have to mention there are some very minor rubs (brassing) above the strap rings area, there is also some slight wear on the top plate below the lever wind (not brassing) from normal use. There is also some slight dry residue on parts of the top paintwork, not tobacco smoke deposit and it is only visible close up. The base of the camera has very small wear marks.
Would make a nice addition for a Pentax or general camera collector.
