This is vintage Pentax MZ-50 autofocus 35mm SLR film camera, introduced by Pentax Asahi Opt. Co. in 1997.The camera features several exposure modes, the major modes are; fully programmed exposure; Shutter-priority AE; Aperture-priority AE and Manual exposure.Recommended lenses for this camera are Pentax KAF2 and KAF, it is supplied with a Pentax-FA 28-80mm 1:3.5-4.7 lens.The shutter is a vertical-travel focal plane shutter, which gives speeds from 1/2000 second to 30 seconds, plus ‘B’ in manual exposure. The camera and lens are in working order, the only thing to mention is that the spring mechanism in the pop-up built in flash is not working well; the flash pops up and fires, but doesn’t stay up by itself; it can be held up with one finger easily, while holding the camera in a natural position: as an alternative to this I have included a Miranda Multi-Dedicated 500-CD flash unit, which works well when attached to the hotshoe (see photo 6). The lens is optically clean, and cosmetically both the lens and camera are in good vintage condition, with only one scuff on the flash cover (see photo 12).A good usable vintage film camera from a good maker.The camera requires two CR2 3V lithium batteries and the flash needs 4 x AA batteries (batteries not included)
