Rare early original 1950’s Nixette Folding 6×6 120 roll film camera and case by Gerlach/Nixon.  Made in Wuppertal, Germany from 1954 by Kamerawerk Adolf Gerlach (a.k.a. Camera-Werk Nixon), the ‘Nixette’ 6×6 folding camera is quite a rarity because of its unusual folding mechanism.  This is an even rarer early version of the camera as it has the shutter release button on the top plate – later versions (Nixette/Trixette II) have a long paddle release lever coming up from the side of the lens barrel which bends back over the strut to depress. The lens is a Supra-Anastigmat 1:5.6, f=7.5cm lens (no: 2741369) in a 4 speed Vario shutter (1/25, 1/50, 1/200sec + Bulb) with apertures from f/5.6 to f/16. It is very stylish and has an unusual ‘origami’ bellows. The struts and the member across the top of the lens block are one solid alloy casting; the bellows fold in across the diagonals of the sides like a paper bag as the lens swings down. This vintage camera hasn’t been used for years, but I recentlychecked it was in full working order mechanically, everything short of putting a film in. In good condition, with all parts I can test working and clear, including lens and viewfinder. Some cosmetic wear to the body, with some black paint rubbed off here and there, the Nixette sign is obscured, and a small amount of rust  on a strut (see photos) which does not effect the camera in action. The film compartment is very clean and tidy.  It takes twelve 6x6cm images on 120 film (not included), but has not been  tested with a film.  Comes complete with an dedicated leather case which is also in good condition although there are the odd mark or two. Overall,.slight wear and tear as is appropriate for age please see photographs which form part of the description. Dispatched from UK.
