The Olympus35EC is an electronic-controlled 35mm compact rangefinder that packs alot of features despite its small size. It is handy and dependable, making it agreat choice for quick-and-easy shots. It has a 5 elements in 4 groups fixedZuiko 42mm f/2.8 lens that takes decent and fairly crisp shots. The 35EC alsoboasts an electronic shutter and a Seiko ESF that is automatically controlledand cocked with the press of the shutter. Convenience is one of the selling points of the 35EC. With justenough settings to fiddle around with like the ASA selector (ranges from 4seconds to 1/800 of a second) and a zone focus selector on the collar of thelens. Users are also easily informed by light indicators and a well-lit andsystematic viewfinder indicator. Surprisingly, peering into the 35EC’sviewfinder is refreshing. It accommodates the user’s eye quite well and is morethan enough for a rangefinder of its size.Although the 35ECisn’t the sharpest or most feature-packed camera in its category, it’s still agood camera that produces good results and maybe even a better shootingexperience than most compact rangefinders. The 35EC is modest in design butdependable when need be. The Batteries this camera takes are now discountinued , i have used the tried and tested method of putting some LR44 inside with some aluminium foil , howeve there is a guy in Japan that sells proper adapters , well worth the investment in my opinion
