Leica vintage copy 35mm rangefinder camera: FED2A: commemorative model
This is a no reserve auction for the following   Leica copy body [FED2A]   What is I believe an Industar 50mm f2.8 lens with original lens cap
This is an interesting little camera. It is one of many Soviet-made Leica copies from the 1950s with commemorative decoration to both body and lens. I believe that it is a FED2A body and Industar lens. This one commemorates a British battleship. The camera is numbered 10 out of 100 copies. I would not place too much on that, since there were dozens of different commemorative versions of this camera produced in the early 1950s.
For information on the Soviet Leica copies, see http://www.sovietcams.com/index.php?1883986375
About the camera bodyFunctional condition: major functions have been checked; there are no issues. The shutter offers speeds from 1/25 to 1/500 plus bulb and fires at all speeds, and they sound right to the ear. The viewfinder is clear, and the rangefinder patch is well-defined.
Cosmetic condition: there are signs of normal careful use; I doubt this camera has been used much. Please examine the photos to satisfy yourself as to the cosmetic condition of this camera body.
About the lensFunctional condition: major functions have been checked; there are no issues. To my eye, the glass is clear and free of haze and fungus. There is some light dust in this lens but no more than I would expect to see in a lens of this vintage. The focus is smooth throughout the range. The aperture ring and the iris operate smoothly; the iris has no signs of oil.
Cosmetic condition: there are signs of normal careful use. Please examine the photos to satisfy yourself as to the cosmetic condition of this lens.
