Leica IIIb in excellent/very good condition, Serial no. 317119. All original.
Shutter speeds all appear to be working normally from 1sec – 1/1000 plus ‘T’ (timed) setting. Rangefinder clear and bright. Very slight indentation to underside of the body (marked on photos) which does not affect the operation of the camera. Rewind and advance operating normally. Original winding spool included.
Original Ernstz Leitz Wetzlar 5cm Summar Lens 1:2 (f2), Serial no. 280901 is in excellent clean condition and the aperture leaves and focus operating smoothly. Rangefinder is clear and bright.
The Ernstz Leitz Wetzlar UV filter is, I would think, original and probably quite rare.
If you are thinking of bidding on this camera and are not familiar with Leica rangefinder cameras please take some time to check their operation. They have their quirks! This particular model has a ‘knack’ to loading and needs some practice. Please remember these cameras have no internal light meter or auto focus and are not SLR.
There has been some slight wear to the original leather body/grip commensurate with age.
If you intend to use the camera I would advise a service with a qualified Leica technician/dealer. The camera has a few little ‘squeaks’ on advance which could do with a little lubrication. Other than that all seems fine.
