Offered is a rare French model Kodak Special 620 folding camera, made in the 1950s – 1960s.  Fitted with an excellent Angenieux 100mm f4.5 lens with front cell focusing, a leaf shutter with speeds from 1 sec thru 1/250 sec plus B, and a bright viewfinder on the top plate.  This is a self-erecting camera, meaning the lens standard “pops” into position when the lens door is opened.  Takes 6×9 (2-1/4″ x 3-1/4″) images on 620 roll film.

Condition:  Excellent.  Cosmetics are superb – look at the listing photos.  The lens is clear, free of fog and haze.  Focus is smooth.  The shutter is accurate and consistent on all speeds.  The body release works properly.  The Angenieux Special lens appears to have a 12-blade iris.  The lens door opens and closes properly.  The viewfinder is bright but hazy (can be cleaned via removal of the top cover).  No light leaks are seen on the supple bellows.

The last listing photo was taken thru this camera’s lens.  You can see that there is no haze and no fog.

Sold exactly as shown.

Note to our US buyers:  Film Photography Project is now selling fresh 620 “Basic Brownie Box Camera” film.  The emulsion is ISO 100 and has qualities similar to the Kodak Verichrome Pan of the old days.  They also offer a variety of modern emulsions, both b&w and color, respooled from 120 to 620.  Check it out here:  https://filmphotographystore.com/collections/620-film
