This is a Kodak No.4 cartridge quarter plate camera from about 1900 – for restoration.
From the internet I have now read that it takes a 104 roll of film which means the picture is approx 5×4 inches. I have measured the the rear opening ie the image area and it is 10.7 x 9cm and the overall size of the light box is 14x11cm which is a quarter plate.

It was bought as a restoration project but then ended up as a display item on a shelf as I contemplated what to do.

Details from the internet:

Lens: f8, Bausch &Lomb Rapid Rectilinear, iris diaphragm 4 – 128, US scale.
Shutter: Eastman Triple Action, pneumatic regulation, speeds slow, medium, fast, B, T.
Construction: Leather covered body, leather bellows.
Format: 5″ x 4″ exposures on 104 roll-film.
Focusing: Bellows to 6 feet. A small carriage is moved along the bed by hand and locked in position, a rack and pinion (within the carriage) then adjusts the position of the front standard. The focusing pinion is spring loaded.
Attributes: Two reflecting view-finders.
Film advance indicated by red window, not coupled to shutter.
Movements: Rise and cross front.

I am sure that the shutter will need some work as it works but the operating lever is not that smooth.
