Kodak, Nagel, Recomar 33 – 9×12 Plate Camera – Schneider Xenar 135mm Lens A rare Kodak (made by the German company, Nagel) Recomar 33 plate camera. This is the Recomar 33, not the smaller, and much more common Recomar 18.
For its age, it is in extremely good condition.
The lens is a Schneider-Kreuznach 13.5cm f4.5 Xenar lens which is in good condition with no scratches. As with most lenses from the 1930s, the lens can be dismantled for cleaning very easily.
The Compur shutter works at all speeds, and sounds accurate, even at the lower speeds such as 1 second.
All functions are working.
All chromed parts are in good condition.
The body is in good condition (it is 80 years old, so has some minor evidence of use). The leather case is in good condition with some wear.
The camera is NOT supplied with a film back – the buyer will have to find one of these if they plan to use it to take photographs.
It IS supplied with its ground glass focusing back.
