Vintage Ilford Sportsman Pronto 35 mm Camera (c.1962) + Dacora 1:2,8/45 mm lens + Ilford leather case
Im offering for auction, without reserve, a lovely old Ilford Sportsman Pronto camera from the early ‘sixties. This model was manufactured in (Western) Germany.
The original leather case is included.
The Sportsman Pronto shutter has four speeds- 1/30, 1/60, 1/125 and 1/250 sec. plus a “B” setting.
The delayed action picture mechanism is operated by moving the small red lever at the bottom of the lens mount to the right as you hold the camera in the taking position.
Once you have pressed the shutter release button, there is an interval of 7-8 seconds before the shutter opens.
Film size: 35 mm.
The Ilford Sportsman was the must have cameras of the early sixties, costing 14 -3 -0 including leather case.
The price of this model today would be approximately 215.00.
Im not an expert on vintage cameras so I can only describe the condition of each item as it appears to a layman.
The camera casing is in very good used condition, showing one or two tiny marks and minor wear.
The camera has not been recently tested with a film inserted.
The film wind mechanism appears to be working correctly.
Shutter is workingsmoothly.
Lens isclear andundamaged.
Viewfinder is clear and bright.
The interior surfaces of the camera are clean, with minimal wear.
The leather case is in very good condition.
