Houghton’s Triple Victo 12×15 Inch Triple Extension Field Camera W/Plate Holder For sale Houghton’s Triple Victo 12×15 Inch Triple Extension Field Camera W/Plate Holder. This is a very rare find a 12×15 inch Biritish made Houghton’s Triple Victo Field Camera from 1900s. The 12×15 inch format are hard to find British field cameras.
The circular label of this camera is missing but the “Triple Victo” brass label is still intact see 14th pic above. Camera measures a compact 4x17x17 inches when folded down, the glass screen measures 12×15 inches.
The fittings are all solid brass, the rear standard can be switched horizontally or vertically. The leather bellows is original it extends to a whopping 37 inches, there are many corner leaks on the bellows. The to and fro movement of the bellows is smooth.
The surface of the brass fittings were sand papered by one of the previous owners for some reason, surface scratches are visible on the fittings. One of the front standard’s small knob is missing see 16th pic above, but the other knob is intact and works perfectly in locking the front standard’s rise and fall movement see 7th pic.
The wooden surface has scuffing and few hairline cracks otherwise camera is still strong and sturdy. Although the camera is still a vintage beauty but a home restoration should bring it back to its original glory. The camera comes with its plate holder which is well used and a 100mm ID brass lens mounting flange.
