A Herbst & Firl Reisekamera 13x18cm Tailboard Camera. The camera in attractive vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The bellows in good condition – no rips or tears but some wear evident (pinholes have not been excluded). The camera with a nice ED. Liesegang Leukoskop 1A approximately 9.5 inch (measured) focal length. The lens in tidy condition, with a little dust and a tiny mark or so but nothing of significance to usage, has a Waterhouse slot and a single stop. The camera also with 2 suitable timber DDS plate holders – one shown mounted.
The lens board has come away from the front standard as shown. Note also that the tracking is a little out of alignment where the tailboard and front base come together. The rear standard can be negotiated on and off the tailboard by tilting but this would benefit from realignment / adjustment (see last photo). The base board has a crack as evident in the photos – this does not appear to impact on usage. One screw is missing from the flange attachment to lens board. One of the retaining hooks needs adjustment. Other than these the camera appears usable subject to provision of suitable shutter.Postage includes mandatory insurance.
