Goerz 1-5/8 inch Hypar f/3.5vintage hand cranked 35mm motion picture camera lens 1-5/8 inches equals about a41mm lens. From the Goerz lens catalogof 1913: Believing that we have in the new Goerz Hypar Lens and instrumentfor motion picture work superior to anything of its kind hitherto placed on themarket, we have modified its optical system in certain small sizes to meet thespecial requirements of this branch of photography. Interestingly Goerzmotion picture lenses are not mentioned in the 1911 catalog. This lens is around a hundredyears old and in great shape. The front and rearelements are remarkably clean from rubbing marks and scratches. I think it waswell cared for and having the front element set so deep in the lens housingmust have helped quite a bit. No haze and no element separation and no fungus.It has a twelve leaf iris that when stopped down to f=22 is a very small pinpoint looking opening. This lens will have a very nice bokeh when shooting wideopen. The image of the front element isgranular because it is set so very deep in the housing I had to blow it upafter I took the picture. The front element is not granular and is smooth andclean. I used an iPhone to take the image ofthe quarter through this lens. Once again it isnt what you would see on filmthough. Film would be better. I find that most of the bidders thatwin my auctions use a sniper bidding system. I use one myself seeing as Imissed a great bargain trying to bid in the last few seconds and due to some unforeseenglitch I didnt win the item. No reserve on this. Noreturns so bid accordingly. What ever the cost of the insurance is is exactlywhat you pay. Priority mail anywhere in the USA. It all changes if you areoutside the USA. Shipping will be through US Post.
