Ensign Selfix 420 folding camera, box, case, instruction booklet. 8 or 12 on 120 roll film. Little used. Amazingly good condition. See Wikipedia for the history, e.g.
described in a contemporary catalogue as “probably the finest roll-film camera [post WW2], designed successfully to beat all the German competition both in optical and mechanical performance”. The camera body is die-cast metal covered in black morocco leather.
This example comes with a personal handwritten note to the owner, a Mr Knight, explaining how the format selection flaps work. Of course, had he read the booklet [included here] …!
A collector could well be delighted by this lovely British instrument in its almost pristine state.
