ENSIGN Selfix 12-20 FOLDING CAMERA 75mm f4.5 ROSSTAR LENS
A very portable way into medium format. This 12-20 Selfix gives twelve 6x6cm square images on easily available and processed 120 film.
Leather covering is in great condition as is chrome plated controls and satin top deck. Painted metalwork in excellent order with only one or two minor scraps on the bottom edge.
The folding mechanism pops straight out as it should and the leather bellows are excellent. No pinholes checked against a strong light. The Epsilon shutter functions perfectly and all speeds feel correct from1/300 to 1 second. The shutter release button is on the top panel and there is a cable release and flash socket on the shutter rim. Iris blades are oil and rust free and work very smoothly.
The lens is a coated Rosstar f 4.5/75 mm of three elements in three groups. This is a derivative of the classic Cooke triplet. It is clear and fungus free. Focus is marked in feet with close focus marked 4.5ft. Focus action is beatifully smooth. Marked apertures are: 4.5, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, and 22.Depth of focus calulator on top deck. The pop up viewfinder is also very clean.
