The item for sale is an antique falling plate box camera that due to age and use is being sold as seen so please do study the photos as they form part of the description and to to satisfy yourself what you will be receiving.There is some wear to the leather(ette) covering mainly to the corners though there is slight lifting to a couple of exposed edges,there is oxidization and paint loss to the metalwork – the strap is worn and is torn at one end with some Verdigris seen from the strap retaining fixings.The view through the 2 brilliant reflecting viewfinders is good but there are some dirt particles and some tarnishing to mirrors seen.There are 12x 3.1/4×4.1/4″ cut film ?? holders supplied which all have some oxidization and paint loss – all 12 were fitted in place and the top lever was operated 12 times and they all fell down one at a time – the plates are stamped Rd.353727 and is for c1900.The iris adjustment is nice and smooth.The shutter is an Ensign Simplex Auto and is working on 100,50 & 25 but does not work on the B&T settings and you have to move the lever back to the 100 setting to get the shutter working again – the original rod or similar that goes between the shutter side operating knob and the shutter lever is missing and I have replaced it with a piece of simple brass cheese wire and looped the ends into place so that the side lever does work the shutter but how long it will last ???.The front lens is marked Symmetrical Rectimat – both the glasses are clean for their age with some minor dirt particles and a very light scratch to the rear glass.The rack and pinion focusing works fine though feels very slightly dry.On the side is stamped Klito No.3A British Made – inside the front door is a disc for Ensign Trade Mark – British Made.The Serial Number looks to be 531 for c1911??.Will be posted using a cardboard box.
