VINTAGE AGILUX AGIFOLD MODEL III 6X6 120 ROLL FILM RANGEFINDER CAMERA AND CASE.

This is an opportunity to purchase a vintage, collectible AgiluxAgifold Model III 6×6 120 Roll Film Rangefinder Camera and Case.
Serial No: 06464.
Some minor cosmetic wear but overall in excellent condition.
A rangefinder camera made in the UK by Agilux from 1955, this was the third model in the Agifold range and is a simple viewfinder with a non-coupled rangefinder and extinction meter.
It is fitted with the Agilux Anastigmat 75mm f4.5 lens with nine shutter speeds of 1/350, 200, 100, 50, 25, 10, 5, 2 and 1sec plus B. The shutter sounds correct at all speeds, apertures of f4.5 – f22 and film wind on controls are working well and the lens is clear and clean with no marks, scratches or fungus. There is some slight tarnishing to the chrome work on the front of the lens.
The rangefinder wheel is now set at 45 degrees tothe housing which is now rigid with the lens/bellows opened by a more conventional button (the previous model was opened by pushing the housing block to the left). An accessory shoe is added, the trigger changes shape, the scale of the meter ismodernized and the font of Agifold is different. In addition, a system isadded to avoid double exposures that prevents the trigger from being triggeredif the film has not been advanced.
The exterior/interior of the camera is clean with take-up spool in place (the spool holders swing out at the top making loadingeasier) and the bellows are light tight. The range finder works but I can’t make out anything on the extinction meter.
The camera can be loaded with 120 or 620 film taking twelve 6x6cm exposures which is advanced by wheel.
Comes complete with Instructions (falling apart) and Ever Ready leather case and strap which is in very good condition.
This is a great example of an exceptionally well made British folding rangefinder camera which would make a fine addition to any collection.
