A stereo photography set allowing 3-D photographs to be viewed and taken with the Ihagee Exakta Varex range of cameras.   It is the second version from 1955 onwards.   Only 50mm focal length lenses are optimal (Tessar, Pancolar or adapted Domiplan from the Exakta range), but acceptable results have also been achieved with the 58mm Biotar.   Using the two beamsplitters, focussing from infinity to macro is possible if 40.5mm supplementary lenses are used for extreme close-ups, but down to 1:1 the lens will need to be reversed.   Three dimensional viewing is via the binocular Stereflex viewfinder that replaces the interchangeable viewfinver of any of the Varex cameras.   The viewfinder is fitted with the standard plano-convex plain ground glass screen giving a 2x magnification similar to the standard viewfinders, the screen being interchangeable with the full screen range if required.

The larger beamsplitter used for object distances of more than two metres has its front and rear caps, is clean and in good condition, free of marks and blemishes.   It has a separation base of 65mm and requires an exposure increase of 1.5x.

The close-up beamsplitter has only a replacement front lens cap and in a strong cross light marks can be seen at the edge of one of the prisms, otherwise it is clean and in good blemish free condition.   The separation base in this case is 12mm   and the required exposure increase in this case is up to 1,8x.

The viewfinder, made by Ihagee, shows some dirt in the optical system and abrasions to the rubber eyepieces.   Otherwise it is in good condition.
