The fourth model in Canon’s Sure Shot series, released in July 1985, this autofocus compact camera was variously known as the Sprint, AF35J (Jet) and Autoboy LITE. It was available in rarer red like this one or the more common black.
The Canon Sure Sprint has a 35mm f3.5 lens, which is quite bright for this type of compact. It has a built-in lens cover that will also lock the shutter when it is closed, a common feature in todays point-and-shoots, but a high-tech selling point in early 1980s. The lens also has a macro option down to 45cm with flash, 90cm otherwise.
Almost everything is automated; light meter takes care of your exposure, theres auto focus, motor drive advances you film for you and rewinds. It takes pictures quite fast and shutter times from 1/40s to 1/250s gets the job done in different conditions.
The only element that isnt automated is the flash, However, users often find this a good thing as that you can decide when to use it; some cameras tend to make that decision for you.
The camera has brand-new batteries and has been tested with film in the past week. The camera is fully operational. The camera is in good condition as the body has small marks of wear across the front though these are purely cosmetic.
The in-built flash is working and the camera comes with a black carry case, which protects the camera well. The original neck strap is also included with the camera.
