Canon FTb body in very good used condition, some minor bright marks on the chrome finish, but no dents, and very clean.
New light seals, and a new mirror bumper have been fitted.
The shutter fires at all speeds, and opens correctly (no ‘tapering’), but has not been checked for accuracy. Flash synchronisation work correctly on both the PC socket and the hot shoe.
The camera has been converted to use SR44 silver oxide cells – rather than the original (now unavailable) PX625 mercury cells. An adapter and fresh SR44 cell are included in the sale. The meter works properly and appears accurate compared to a know good camera.
This is an early FTb so does not have the shutter speed display in the viewfinder. It has the advantage over the later FTbn of a larger, more usable stop down lever, and a great many more metal parts in its mechanism (many metal gears were replaced with plastic in the FTbn)
