The Canon 814 Auto Zoom Electronic:
The professionnal workhorse of Canon Super8s. All metal, a lot of functions, reliable, and a great viewfinder, much improved over the more compact models. It only needs 4 AA R6 1,5V batteries for all functions.
About this one:
Looks good and works fine. Ready to shoot.
Smooth focus, smooth manual and electric zoom, aperture moving accurately, tested light meter and aperture responding accurately to light, manual aperture setting OK, light temperature filter switching ok.
Very nice & clean lens, no dust, no scratches no fungus.
2 minor issues:
_the battery trap show some corrosion, without any effect on the camera’s operation
_the manual aperture setting does not work reliably, it’s a common fault on these models. Auto aperture setting works fine.
