COLLECTION OF 8 VINTAGE/ANTIQUE BOX CAMERAS & 13 PLATES
– various brands and models – please see photos and below for details- if you require any further, specific photos please let me know- collected by and selling on behalf of my father- the cameras have been displayed for a while and then carefully stored for a couple of years- unlikely to be working/fully operational as so old (display pieces), although I could be wrong – Im afraid I have no technical knowledge and cannot answer questions of that nature -sorry!- these may be collected from Wimbledon, London SW19 or posted to you via MyHermes courier.
SOME SPECIFICS…- of the 8 cameras in this listing the largest is an Ensign measuring approx 22×11.5cm. It has a fragile-looking leather handle on one side. There is a metal fold-out leg on the front marked Ensign and a small circular tab saying made by Houghtons Ltd London, British Made, Ensign with flag emblem. There is also a small metal plate next to this marked Bishops Photographic Supplies 466 Holloway Rd N7. The push button release the camera with black bellows.- the next in size (20.5x11cm) is a Carbine and has a branded front leg and round logo on the bottom marked Butchers famous cameras, British made. It has a nice leather, branded strap on one side. The front easily pulls off to reveal the camera – it does not in such good condition as the others and may have internal covers missing eg over reel and film areas(?). – next in size (16.5x10cm) is a Rajar camera which looks quite different in style, with a shiny black finish. The front has a triangular plate saying Rajar No 6. Very unusual looking camera.- the next two cameras in size are similar and boxy. One has a leather carry handle marked Cameo. I cant work out how to open the camera Im afraid! It is 14.5×11.5cm. – the other of this size (14x11cm) has the Ensign circular button on one side. This one I can open (push down catch below handle). On the runway it says Folding Klito- another boxy camera of a slightly smaller size (13x11cm) appears to be older and a little rattier with no apparent branding and again I cant work out how to open it. The leather carry handle has mostly broken off and the casing is also peeling away. Makes it an interesting piece for display. The front is made of opaque glass.- the two remaining cameras are a little smaller. One is marked VoigAlnder on the back and Vag on the leather handle. There is a push down release mechanism which reveals the camera and its clicker. The lens is marked Ibsor DRP 202959- the last camera is an Agfa (12×8.5cm). It is branded on the back; the leather handle is marked Standard. Inside is also branded as Agfa Standard. There is a clicker. There is some scratching to the left side of the lens casing. – as well as the 8 cameras there are 13 slides – 3 large and 10 smaller. The large ones are all the same type, marked VN, measuring 17x10cm. The smaller ones mostly differ but are all approx 13.5×7.5cm. One is very thick (unbranded), one is marked Zeuss Ikon, one is Contessa-Nettel 654, one is simply marked DRP, two others are unbranded and 4 are all AP Paris. Some have writing on, eg Sandra, or 15 sec f4-5.- all in all a fascinating collection
NB This is a different set of cameras listed recently, which were all Kodak and sold as an auction. Another bundle of Kodak cameras are also currently listed, if of interest.
