This is a Super Paxette IIL rangefinder camera made by Braun in Nuremberg, Germany between 1958 and 1962. This was the second version of the Super Paxette and featured a coupled rangefinder and interchangeable lenses in a Prontor-SVS shutter. This particular camera is in excellent cosmetic condition and in good working order. It is the camera body only – no lens. Cosmetic condition (to be read in conjunction with the photographs)The body of the camera is in excellent condition. The leatherette casing is unmarked with no scuffs or tears of areas of lifting leather. The satin chrome top and bottom plates are also unmarked. The rangefinder surround on the front of the camera shows some minor signs of wear – see photos. The interior of the camera is in excellent condition. Operational ConditionThe camera appears to be in good working order. The Prontor-SVS shutter fires on all settings and timing appears to be correct. Timing will need checking if you intend to use this camera. The rangefinder is untested due to the lack of a lens, but presents a very clear image through the viewfinder. The back of the camera slides off smoothly on releasing the central locking wheel. The camera takes 35mm film. Dimensions are 11.5 x 8 x 5cm and the camera weighs 560g.
Overall, this is a very nice example of this well made German camera. Body only – no lens.
This camera has not been tested with film and as with any camera of this age it would probably benefit from a general mechanical service if you intend to use it. I check all lenses for fungus as best I can, but do not guarantee that any lens is entirely fungus free. I recommend having any lens professionally cleaned if you intend to use the camera. Due to the age of this camera it is being sold as seen without warranty. This cameras will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class post.
