BOLEX D8L 8mm CINE CAMERA + Three Nice Lenses
Dating from 1959, this clockwork cine camera has the following Kern Paillard YVAR lenses fitted:
i) 13mm f1.8 wide angle Visifocus
ii) 25mm f2.5 standard
iii) 36mm f2.8 telephoto Visifocus + matching metal lens hood
Also included are two lens caps (one is missing); a Bolex pistol grip and a hand grip.
Plus the original case which is tatty but could I guess be repaired, and an instruction manual for the similar two-lens B8L.
This camera takes 25ft Double 8mm roll film – NOT SUPER 8 – the correct film is available online at specialist retailers.
The camera runs well and I have tested it with film; results were good. The somewhat obscure inbuilt light meter works also although I would recommend using a handheld meter myself.
However PLEASE NOTE the film counter does not move and the door catch needs some adjustment. These minor issues do not affect filming ability and can be fixed with a bit of time and patience. There are actually instructions online for fixing the film counter.
