On offer isa Bilora Radix 35 Rapid Film Camera with a Rare Schneider Radionar 38mm f3.5 lens.
Some cosmeticwear but overall in good condition.
The Radix cameraseries were manufactured by the Kurbi & Niggeloh (Bilora) Company inGermany from 1948-1952. There were several Radix models produced, this beingthe “Radix35” derived from the f/3.5 lens.
It is an allmetallic and quite a heavy compact viewfinder camera which takes 24x24mmsized exposures on Karat cassettes. This model was made from 1949.
It is fitted with the superior enhanced SchneiderRadionar 38mm f/3.5 lens (serial no: 2238743) which has a simple single shutterspeed (approx. 1/60sec) but does have a small zipper trigger under the lens whichlocks it in the open position for long exposures. The shutter button (assuch being a trigger) is not pressed but must be pulled to the right.Aperture moves freely between the settings which are f/3.5, f/5.6, f/8, f/11 andf/16.
The cameraopening system consists of a large circular latch on the rear that is turnedallowing the entire back to be pulled away from the body to reveal a lovely cleaninterior. Unfortunately, no Karat cassettes are included (these can be purchased onlinefor approx. 6.00) which can be loaded with modern 35mm within a darkroom.
The lens appearsin good condition with some dust, but no scratches, haze or fungus and the bodyshows only minor signs of wear and tear.
An excellent point and shoot camera ideal for lomography.
Uses 35mm film (not included).
A rare Radixmodel which will make a fine addition to any camera collection.
Please view photos carefully and consider them part of the description.
All cameras and lenses are visually inspected and mechanically tested (a used film is run through where possible) to ensure that all functions operate correctly. If the item arrives not as described, I will gladly refund your payment.
