During the 1950’s and early 1960’s, the Asahi Pentax was distributed in the United States by Sears Roebuck & Co. under the Sears brand name “Tower”.
In May 1957, Asahi Optical Company began production of its new 35mm SLR Pentax Camera. The original model of the Pentax, also known as the “AP”, was produced from May 1957 through March 1958.
Between May 1958 and May 1959, Asahi produced its third version of the Pentax called the “K”.
In the United States, the original model Pentax AP camera was sold by Sears as the TOWER 29.
This is about as cosmetically mint a Tower 29 as you are going to find.
There is a very small dent in the top of the viewfinder housing, and some scratch marks on the bottom of the lower plate, however, these will not be visible if the camera is displayed at the right height.

Everything appears to work as designed, however, my intent in selling this item is solely that it act as a visual display piece in a collection. I have not used it, nor is my intent for you to do so, in fact, you would be foolish to. The Camera and Lens are each a very rare collectible and are each valued in excess of $400.

Also includes brown leather case however the lower tab which holds the bottom of the case in place has sheared off.
